Experience & Background
Hillary F. Coslick, LCSW, C-DBT of Coslick Counseling Services is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (Georgia License Number: CSW007222), and 100 percent owner and founder of Coslick Counseling Services. Ms. Coslick received her Master’s degree in Social Work from Savannah State University in 2013 and has over ten years of experience providing specialized mental health counseling and psychotherapy services in the state of Georgia.
Essentially, Ms. Coslick’s theoretical framework marries evidence-based theory and practice models such as Ecological-Systems Theory, Person-In-Environment, Afrocentric perspective (Ubuntu philosophy), Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive-Behavior Theory, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy
and Twelve-Step Facilitation Therapy. Ms. Coslick’s practice philosophy focuses on the ethical responsibility to our community “in context” and to the social work profession as a whole to use holistic, integrative techniques that have evidence-based, but practical individualized support for fostering health and wellness. As such, this human-centered philosophy is rooted in the empowerment tradition of acceptance and human connection for “living in balance”.
In addition, Ms. Coslick’s previous experience includes working in a variety of settings such as partnering with youth programs like YouthBuild Savannah from 2014 to 2020. Ms. Coslick partnered with YouthBuild Savannah to provide a diverse psycho-educational platform including Individual Counseling, Trauma/Shame Reduction therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy sessions, Early Prevention Addiction and Mental Health Group therapy and Staff Workshops.
Ms. Coslick has a passion for holistic and integrative social work services and has been undergoing continuing education in Nutritional and Integrative Medicine for Mental Health Professionals since 2019 and working to complete certification as a Mental Health Integrative Medicine Provider (CMHIMP). Ms. Coslick also has a passion for mindfulness meditation and received a mindfulness certificate in 2018 for completing Christopher Willard’s certificate course for treating Kids and Teens: Interventions for ADHD, Anxiety, Trauma, Emotional Regulation, and more. Most recently, Ms. Coslick has received extensive training in advanced Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), is part of a DBT consult team and is a certified DBT Therapist (C-DBT) by Evergreen to provide DBT informed psychotherapy services.
Additionally, she has years of specialized training in child, adolescent, and young adult populations and completed a 300-hour MSW Internship with the Savannah Chatham County Public School System providing counseling to Savannah High School, Myers Middle School, and Oglethorpe Charter School students.
Specifically, Ms. Coslick also worked as a Team Leader with the City of Savannah’s Summer Youth Pre-Apprentice Program providing youth counseling and guidance to students referred through juvenile justice and alternative schools. Ms. Coslick has also obtained extensive social work knowledge and experience working with non-profit organizations such as Heads-Up Guidance Services, Performance Initiatives, outpatient programs such as Recovery Place, Inc., and adult inpatient/military/program development for Coastal Behavioral Health and St. Simon’s By the Sea.
